How To Install Geotextile?

Use manual rolling, the cloth surface should be flat, and leave a proper margin for deformation. Unless agreed, the geotextile must be laid strictly in accordance with the geotextile laying design drawings submitted to the supervising engineer. Any equipment used to lay geotextiles cannot be driven on top of the geosynthetic material. When installing geotextiles, the outdoor air temperature cannot be lower than 0°C or higher than 40°C. The edges of all exposed geotextiles must be immediately pressed with sandbags or other heavy objects to prevent the geotextiles from being blown up by the wind or pulled out of the surrounding anchoring ditch. Geotextile cannot be unfolded in windy weather to prevent it from being blown up by the wind.

The laying of geotextiles such as pulling, lifting or rolling must be carried out under controlled conditions, and some uncontrolled unfolding methods such as "free fall" are not allowed. The laying method must not damage the geotextile and any other underlying geosynthetics. The geotextile should be prevented from being damaged by construction equipment or concentrated personnel.

The laying method of geotextile must exclude wrinkles. Any wrinkles, folds or arches may cause the same situation with other geotechnical materials. Therefore, in order to avoid wrinkles, folds and arches, the geotextile must be re-laid or sloped according to the technical instructions. Minimize the number of overlaps along the length of the slope (cross stitching). All slopes have been cut and repaired to eliminate these problems. When the geotextile is laid on more than 10%, the geotextile must be less than 1.5m above the slope toe. Geotextiles and geosynthetics covered by geotextiles must be free of mud, dust, dirt and debris, which may damage the underlying geotechnical materials or block the drainage system. The equipment for cutting geotextiles must be approved by the supervising engineer before they can be used. Unprotected razors or "quick knives" cannot be used. The contractor must clean the work site every day, remove the debris generated during the installation of the geotextile, and place them in an appropriate container.
